Cristina lives in La Oscurana, about to give birth and sensing her death. At this crossroads, she decides to look for Rafael -the painter and photographer of this Colombian Caribbean town- to make a portrait of her. A play of light: giving birth and the image sees the light, in La Oscurana. His daughter Emérita has returned to the village and the ritual of making the image is an event: Rafael wants to capture even the silence. Silence that seems to linger in the image until the arrival of the new life.
